The soup is really good. This is now our new fav place. The price is reasonable. The meatballs are delicious!

Nasi lemak ayam goreng @ Restoran Ali Food Corner, PJ

This was pretty good. The rice was tasty and wasn't sticking together. The sambal - well, it was sweet and some people may not like it. I do! There weren't any fried ikan bilis, though. The ayam goreng was really very good. Crunchy skin but not too much batter, tasty and juicy.

Seafood croissant sandwich @ Délifrance, Tropicana City Mall

We both used to love the sandwiches at Délifrance. After all, the croissants are lovely and the filling is generous. We were glad that it was still as good when we tried it out again recently.

Claypot chicken rice @ Restoran Busy Corner, DJ

Our favourite spot for claypot chicken rice! Have to wait for a while - but it is worth the wait.

Yong tau foo @ Lorong Peel Yong Tau Foo, PJ branch

We came across this place accidentally as we were going to section 14 from Sungai Way. The actual name may be a bit different. The address is along Jalan SS9A/14.

It was actually not bad. The filings were quite substantial!

Pork noodles @ SS3, PJ

This used to be the place for pork noodles. The wait was expected - after all, good things comes to those who wait!

It was the best pork noodles at that time. It was so tasty and jammed packed with pork - pork liver, minced pork, pork meat, pork intestines, chee yau char! So be warned - if u're not into entrails, then avoid this like a plague.

But the last few times i was there, i found the food to be a little cold - not as hot as i would like it to be. And in recent times, i've discovered another place - IMHO, a place which serves better pork noodles! More about that when i get pics of it - but still, this one at SS3 is still pretty good.

Lemongrass prawn spaghetti @ Food Foundry

This was really yummy! The prawns were fresh - easy to get the shells off and crunchy. The pasta was done very well - not too hard nor overcooked.

Just a little warning tho. It is a little spicy! Oh, and when i had it, it was very oily!!!! It would have been nice if they had some bread/baguette to dip into the oil at the end of the meal (just like how Michael used to do back in Rayleigh Tower!).

Jap food @ Sushi Tei, Tropicana City Mall

One of the first few places we dined at the Tropicana City Mall was at Sushi Tei. To be honest, we din think much of the main courses of rice and ramen. But the appetizers (yeah, a lot eh?) were pretty good!

Dai Dai Roll

Ika Sugatayaki - grilled cuttlefish

Hand rolls - Salmon Skin (R) & California (L)

Roti planta @ Pelita, PJ

Roti planta is basically your normal roti prata but cooked with margarine. Planta is the name of the common margarine brand used.

It is also usally cooked with sugar so it has that sweet taste.

One of the best in town is the one made at Pelita, SS2. It is nice, crunchy and just sweet!

Maggi Mee Goreng @ Lotus, DJ

Lotus is one of the most frequented supper venues among my church mates. And 9 out of 10 times when i eat there, i'll go for their maggi mee goreng, tak mahu pedas (fried Maggi Mee, not spicy).

It is arguably one of the best around. As you can see, it is quite substantial and loaded with lots of vege. My biggest criteria is the noodles itself. It is just nice for me. Not too soft (overcooked) nor too hard. Just nice! :-)

Blue cheese burger @ Tony Romas, Sunway Pyramid

We went there as a farewell for some of the students opting to go to the UK for 2nd year. Initially we were supposed to go to Fridays but it was full. So we ended up here - quite reluctantly for me! The only thing good about Tony Romas (i've been told) is it's pork ribs. But they dun have that in the local outlets here.

So i settled for this burger. Wasn't that bad. For one, it was big enuf to satisfy me! Almost had difficulties biting into it. Secondly, i loved the cheese. Nice!

But with almost every other gourmet burger that i have eaten in M'sia, it was just too well done - and ended up being rather dry. This was even when i specified i wanted it medium. Maybe i should ask for medium rare next time?

Mille crêpe @ Food Foundry, PJ

After a spot of filming we did on our chapel grounds, Michelle, Samuel and i headed off for tea. Sam recommended we try Mille crêpe nearby. Michelle has heard about it and was game. I had no objections.

What is Mille crêpe? Well, let's turn to Wiki for help:-
Mille crêpe is a French cake made of many crêpe layers. "Mille" ("mil") means "a thousand," implying the many layers of crêpe.
The place is Food Foundry, a corner lot on the ground floor of the flats nearby my church grounds.

The food? It was not too bad. We tried the normal one (vanilla), a strawberry one and a chocolate one.

We all concluded that the best was the cheapest one - the vanilla one. It taste exactly like how it is - layers of thin pancake with the flavoured filling.

Not too bad. The place was nice too - when we were there, it was rather breezy.

Set lunch @ Esquire Kitchen, Sunway

It was Friday and we had to go 'rescue' one of our mates. That meant going out for lunch with her!

We were at Sunway Pyramid and ended up at Esquire Kitchen - the lady's choice. I suggested that we tried their set lunch - basically, we can choose one pork dish, one chicken dish, one fish dish, and one vege. It came with an egg foo yong. I kinda decided on everything and no one really had any violent objections.

We went for the classic Tung Po pork, fish stir-fried with ginger and onion shoots, lemon chicken and kai lan.

It was all generally quite good. The pork was tasty - and unhealthy! The fish was nice. The chicken was alright. The egg tho was really sad. Aren't there supposed to be prawns in egg foo yong?

Anyways, all this for RM55 excluding drinks. We had chinese tea which was free flow and took the opportunity to have a long comfy chat after lunch.

French fine dining @ Lemon Grass, PJ

I believe the name of the restaurant is Lemon Grass. It is actually part of the Taylor's School of Hospitality and Tourism. The students run the place and get practical training.

They were hosting the dinner at the end of the National Rounds of the LawAsia Moot Competition 2008. We were tired exhausted and just wanted to be fed and go home and sleep. Yeah, we were sore losers! Lol!

The table set-up. Looks good-eh?

We started off with some finger food. Nothing to shout about and the baguette base wasn't nice - 'lau foong' edi!

We had some not impressive mock-tails to quench our thirst too. I went for fruit juice after this and even that wasn't very nice.

Here's our menu for the night:-

Appetizer - Paprika oil seared scallops on yellow watermelon with coriander pesto, alfalfa sprouts and coconut lime foam.

I was ambivalent about this. Scallops were nice. It however din go too well with the watermelon.

This was followed by pumpkin soup (for details, refer to the menu above). No one around me liked the soup at all!

The main course - cod fillet on a bed of mash potatoes

I thought the fish was a bit... fishy (in cantonese, 'sang') but the rest din think so. Still, it was nice and fresh.

The best part tho was the mash potatoes. Lovely!

And finally, the desert! Mango and Passion fruit mousse cake, chocolate macaroon and citrus crème brûlée (burnt cream!).

The mousse cake was too sour for the guys and too sweet for the girls!!!

The remaining two were winners to all of us! Yup, end off on a high note. Only small complaint wiil be that they were too small!!! A good complaint, dun u think?
