Beef noodles @ Cheong Kee, Ipoh
There is this place in Ipoh famous for selling dong sui. But when we were there, i oso tried out the beef noodles (stall no. 47).
It was quite good - but i found the beef balls to be nothing extraordinary but too expensive!

Curry laksa @ Ipoh
I can't remember the name of the place we had this - but the laksa at Ipoh is generally like this - very unlike the type we in the Klang Valley are used to, with creamy coconut milk in the soup. The curry laksa at Ipoh is more on the sour side. The plus points is that it normally comes with lots of meat - roast pork, char siew, chicken and prawns.
Just a word of caution - make sure when you order, you emphasise on the "curry". In Ipoh, "Laksa" usually means "Assam laksa".

Pizza and Pasta @ Michaelangelo's, Ipoh
It's Chinese New Year! An excuse to commit gluttony???
Well, gluttony is never good! Still, when we go back to Ipoh, there is always an abundance of food to eat!
Yeah, even when most of the Chinese restaurants are closed!
We opted for Italian one nite:-

Fruit rojak @ The Stadium in Ipoh
This is the chinese style rojak with fruits. The one served here does not come with prawn crackers but instead it comes with yau char kwai.
Nice! The sauce was god and the peanut sprinkles added to the taste.

Bean sprout chicken @ Lou Wong, Ipoh
Ipoh is famous for its nga choy kai - beansprout chicken. Nope, not chicken flavoured beansprout - but chicken served with bean sprout!
Perhaps the most commercialised place is Lou Wong (No. 49, Jalan Yau Tet Shin, Ipoh) - but i used to frequent that place when i had to travel to Ipoh for my court cases. But i was told it was mainly for out-of-towners.
In recent times, i was told that locals still frequent that place - tGiF's parents think it is quite good! So i went there and gave it another go.
The beansprout - can't get them wrong when at Ipoh!!!
The chicken was tasty - but super oily!!!! You can see the oil on the sides of the plate!
The rice was wonderful!!!! =P
And i always need my pork fix - and the pork balls did the trick!
