Roast Pork and Char Siew Rice @ Champ's, BSC

A bit on the salty side but it was good. Crispy skin for the roast pork, tender juicy siew yoke.

"Bursting" meatballs
The soup is really good. This is now our new fav place. The price is reasonable. The meatballs are delicious!

Yee Sarng - it looked dry after mixing but it surprised us with its taste

Crispy pork trotters - unique and tasty

Prawns - very fresh!

Stir-fried mushrooms

Steamed Dragon Grouper. Very fresh and tasty.

Desert - glutinous rice balls in ginger soup. Very refreshing.
The set also comes with a delicious sea cucumber crab soup and longevity noodles.

Roast duck and roast pork noodles @ Village Roast Duck

This place has the best roast duck in Malaysia!

Look at the layer of fat between the skin of the duck and the meat!

The raost pork is also one of the most consistently best in town!

Highly recommended.

Shanghai Fried Noodles @ Esquire Kitchen

I normally eat rice or the tung po pork when i go to the Esquire Kitchen. There was one time when i decided to try something else. The wife recommended this.

This taste better than it looks -you can see a strand of burnt noodle. But it tastes really good.

Pork chop fried rice @ Din Tai Fung, ESG

Thisis a follow-up on an earlier post on Fried rice with prawns and pork. We also tried the pork chop fried rice.

You can see each rice grain! Nice.

Fried lotus root & minced pork cake served with rice @ Chatterbox Cafe

My wife's favourite when we go to this place! I like it very much too - only small complaint is that the dish is a tad bit dry. If it came with soup or with some sauce/gravy, it would be perfect!

Claypot chicken rice @ Restoran Busy Corner, DJ

Our favourite spot for claypot chicken rice! Have to wait for a while - but it is worth the wait.

Lam Yee Mee @ Lameeya

It's so good! With huge fresh prawns, chicken and pork meatballs. I prefer this over the more original Lam Mee as the noodles for that is too thick for me. The yee mee here is pretty good - and i am a fan of yee mee anyways!

Fried rice with prawns and pork @ Ding Tai Fung

The wife wanted some fried rice so we went to ESG as i remembered having fried rice there with Jonathan previously.

It was good! And substantial. I was duly impressed. She was satisfied.

Yong tau foo @ Lorong Peel Yong Tau Foo, PJ branch

We came across this place accidentally as we were going to section 14 from Sungai Way. The actual name may be a bit different. The address is along Jalan SS9A/14.

It was actually not bad. The filings were quite substantial!

Curry laksa @ Ipoh

I can't remember the name of the place we had this - but the laksa at Ipoh is generally like this - very unlike the type we in the Klang Valley are used to, with creamy coconut milk in the soup. The curry laksa at Ipoh is more on the sour side. The plus points is that it normally comes with lots of meat - roast pork, char siew, chicken and prawns.

Just a word of caution - make sure when you order, you emphasise on the "curry". In Ipoh, "Laksa" usually means "Assam laksa".

Hakka mee @ Cathay, Ipoh

The Hakka mee at Ipoh is pretty different from the ones we have here at the Klang Valley. It's almost a must-eat for us whenever we go to Ipoh!

My wife's - she like the fried stuff to go with the Hakka mee
Mine. We usually ask for extra mince pork on the top. It's light in colour but pretty yummy!
