Me mates told me that in Sandakan, i have to try their seafood bak kut teh. Well, i like seafood and i like bak kut teh. So i had to try it once i was there.
I managed to find out the place to go to from a taxi driver - but it wasn't necessary as one of students kindly took me there in the end! Cheers, Sam!
Located at Bandar Nam Tung, just take the Leila Road and head out of town for around 3 km (my estimation).
I found out that unlike the bak kut teh here where you out everything in together, the seafood bak kut teh is served separately. So Sam ordered pork, prawns and fish slices. It came in 3 different bowls.
The seafood bak kut teh is cooked with a lot of ginger so it ended up giving it a spicy kick - not that i din like it!
The prawns were super fresh and lovely. The seafood and ginger gives it its own distinct taste. Not bad, not bad at all! Although i have to admit that bak kut teh cooked with pork is still the way it should be! Pork with all the 'spare parts'! ;-P~
